Welcome to this blog. Through it I share Catholic teaching and writings that will encourage readers to continue their journey in Christ with purpose, joy and gratitude.

I especially invite Protestant brothers and sisters to check out this blog and other resources to educate themselves on the Catholic Church and its teachings - the misperceptions are many. And I invite Catholics to be bold in living and sharing the teachings of the Catholic Church - the church that Christ Himself established!

Have a blessed day! And now go be a saint!

My Morning Offering

Many Christians (Protestant and Catholic) begin their day with a brief prayer in which they offer/consecrate themselves (and all that will happen that day) to God.  Such a prayer places ourselves securely in God's perfect will and plan for us that day and gives Him permission to accomplish His designs for us.  It also reminds us that we are now our own - we've been bought with a price and are His!

The first morning offering below is a Catholic prayer of consecration to the Holy Spirit, written by Pope St. Pius X.  I love it and try and recite it during my morning run with my dog, Milo:

Divine Spirit of light and love, I consecrate my mind and heart and will to you for time and for eternity.
May my mind be open to your divine inspirations and to the teachings of the Church, whose infallible guide you are.
May my heart be filled with love of God and love of neighbor and my will conformed to the will of God.
May my whole life be a faithful imitation of Christ, to whom with You and the Father be honor and glory forever...Amen.

I also pray this next one often - a beautiful Catholic prayer for unity with Christ, His Church, and its earthly leaders:

Lord Jesus - through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my works, joys, prayers and sufferings of this day in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world.  I offer them for the intentions of your Sacred Heart: the salvation of souls, reparation for sin, the reunion of all Christians.  I offer them for the intentions of the Apostles of Prayer, all the Bishops and Pope Benedict XVI.  Amen.

This next one is taken from Isaiah 33...try memorizing it and saying it daily:

O Lord, have pity on us, for You we wait.
Be our strength every morning,
our salvation in time of trouble.

At the roaring sound, peoples flee;
when You rise in Your majesty, nations are scattered.

The Lord is exalted, enthroned on high;
He fills Zion with right and justice.
That which makes her seasons lasting,
the riches that save her, are wisdom and knowledge;
the fear of the Lord is her treasure.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.  As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be; world without end, Amen.
