Welcome to this blog. Through it I share Catholic teaching and writings that will encourage readers to continue their journey in Christ with purpose, joy and gratitude.

I especially invite Protestant brothers and sisters to check out this blog and other resources to educate themselves on the Catholic Church and its teachings - the misperceptions are many. And I invite Catholics to be bold in living and sharing the teachings of the Catholic Church - the church that Christ Himself established!

Have a blessed day! And now go be a saint!

Confirmation Sunday

Yesterday was a spectacular day at our parish. 62 8th graders received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Campbell. Through this beautiful sacrament, these young Christians received the gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, understanding, right judgment, courage, knowledge, reverence, wonder and awe. At the conclusion of the Mass Bishop Campbell reminded them of who they are in Christ and he challenged them to never give that dignity away or allow others to take it from them.

His challenge can be put to the rest of us too. Do we live each day with a conscious realization of who we are. As Christians we have been baptized into the Body of Christ, the Church. We are chosen, called, and destined for eternal life with Christ. But we must live out that calling in faithfulness, responding to God's grace each day.

Today, take a few moments to thank God for your baptism and for your confirmation. Renew the vows you made when you were confirmed. And remember that you have been made in the very image of God the Father, redeemed by His Son and strengthened by the Holy Spirit.

Now go be a saint!
